Let teachers cancel their own classes, and choose who hears about auto-cancelled classes

You decide whether teachers can cancel the classes they teach, and who is told — and how — when a class is cancelled automatically for low attendance.

# Let teachers cancel their own classes, and choose who hears about auto-cancelled classes

## Teachers cancelling their own classes

On **Staff & Instructors** there is a new setting: **Teachers can cancel their own classes**. It is **off** until you turn it on. When it is on, a teacher can cancel a class they teach (or are covering) from their schedule, their home page and the Business app. You can also stop it a number of hours before the start — for example "until 4 hours before the class starts". Set 0 to allow it right up to the start.

Outside professionals you work with through a collaboration follow their own switch instead: open the person under **Network**, then **Role & access**, and tick **Cancel the classes they teach**. New collaborations start with this off.

You can also change both settings from the Business app.

A teacher's cancellation works exactly like one made by your team: booked clients get their clips, credits and course places back, the waitlist is cleared, and it is recorded in your audit log. Nobody is notified unless the teacher chooses a channel and is allowed to send notifications. A teacher can't cancel a class that has already started, a class where someone is already checked in, or another teacher's class. The same rule applies wherever a class can be cancelled — the class page, a selection of classes, the Business app and the AI assistant — and only people with schedule access can edit a class, cancel a whole series or undo a cancellation.

## Who hears about an automatically cancelled class

If you use **Enable Auto-Cancel** (Settings → Booking rules), a new **Auto-cancel notifications** section lets you decide who is told when a class is cancelled because too few people booked. **Nobody is told until you choose.** Both audiences start on **Don't notify**:

- **Clients** — everyone booked or on the waitlist, and course participants for a course session. Choose **Notify clients**, then pick email, SMS and/or push. Guests booked without an account can only be told by email. Your Automated messages switch for class cancellations and your channel rules still apply to what you choose.
- **Instructor** — the teacher of the class, and the substitute if one is covering it. Choose **Notify the instructor**, then pick email, SMS and/or push.

Pick **Don't notify** again at any time to stop telling that audience. A brand can set its own choice in its rules. Clients always get their credits back, whatever you choose here.
